Spiritual Practice for Labor Day Retreat

As we prepare for our upcoming Labor Day Retreat themed “Be the Light and Spread Your Wings,” we lovingly invite you to participate in a 9-week Pre-Retreat Spiritual Practice (Sadhana). This is an opportunity to purify ourselves and strengthen our connection with Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba through shared spiritual practices.

All practices will continue for 9 weeks starting July through September.

Below are the details of three practices that we would like to offer collectively, requesting each of you to participate in at least one spiritual practice and lovingly offer it to Swami.

  1. Daily Reading - “108 Mirrors to Know Thyself”

Daily reading to reflect on Swami’s divine attributes and contemplate on how to integrate them into our daily living. We will be using the 108 Nectarine Names of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba , a study guide prepared by the Sri Sathya Sai Scriptural Studies Committee:

    • Led by Region 6 Women’s Wing, open to all
    • Format: Coordinated reading and reflection in small groups
    • Participation: Please sign up before Wednesday, July 1 – https://forms.gle/VyhCDY4QTdNoPBR19

  2. Meditation – Weekly Group Meditation for Inner Stillness

Once a week guided meditation session led by the Sri Sathya Sai Center of Beaverton.

This weekly practice will help us cultivate inner silence, hear the voice within, and strengthen our collective spiritual energy. In-person sessions are being conducted for those in Beaverton, please contact Brother Barthi for details of the location. Join using link below to participate virtually.

  3. Service Sadhana – The “Second Chance” Initiative

As part of our service offering, the Young Adults (YA) team will be leading the “Second Chance Initiative.”

This effort invites us to identify household items that are in good condition and/or not used for a long time, hence can be offered a “second life” to someone in need.

The YA teams are currently coordinating with local partners to understand specific needs and will share a list of required items soon.

  4. Closing Reflection

This 9-week Sadhana is a collective offering at the Lotus Feet of our beloved Lord as we prepare to deep-dive into inner transformation aligned with our theme: “Be the Light and Spread Your Wings”. Looking forward to your participation.

Praying to Swami to bless this offering as we kick-off the activities on July 6th. Jai Sairam!
